Roll on Summer

Thinking of Summer I bought these two tops from a garage sale for $2.00 each, both way too big at size 20, but very easy to refashion100_2555

The white cotton kaftan had splits in the side and arms, I stitched and took in the sides, and shortened the sleeves, also added some purple shirring under the bust and on sleeve edge, not real good pics but you'll get the drift.

I love purple

The second smock, shown here on Mary the model, needed some help, the wings were the first to go, and I crossed over the straps at the back and also took the sides in,and of course the buttons from my ever growing button stash. Perfect.

Tomorrow a friend is doing my hair, so today I whipped up a couple of pairs of nappy covers for her one year old....from thrifted gingham and a boys sheet...the pattern was drafted from Enid Gilchrist...psst anyone over 40 remember the Coppertone girl lol
