A Wedding Dress to Christening Gown Refashion For a friend
Denim Dusters

Project Bridesmaid

I was asked to be a bridesmaid in an April wedding, and the only requirement was that the dress should be yellow.  This pleased me to no end, because I have had my eye out for great yellow dresses for several years now.  Although I could wear a vintage polyester dress I found at a thrift store a few years ago, the wedding will be in a tropical environment, and I'd rather not be uncomfortably hot!  Purchasing a new dress would not only be against the rules and expensive, it would also be very difficult, as yellow dresses are not as common as you might think, and I'm pretty tall, so ready to wear dresses don't always fit me well.

The solution: make my own!  I just finished the dress this weekend, and I'm very pleased with the results:
The dress is made of a textured lightweight cotton using New Look pattern 6799.  For more details and photos, come on by for a visit to my blog.  Meghan
