Restyling a school dress
I love the fact that my kids' school has a uniform, but also that the school is quite relaxed about it. Parents buy their check dresses from all sorts of different uniform suppliers, so there are various styles on campus. I therefore thought there was no harm in stylin' one up.

My new favourite dress!
Hi! So I was saying today how not everything I make turns out as I had imagined...I bought a kimono (I did take a pic but I can't seem to find it!) at one of my local thrift shops for $3! I knew staight away I wanted to make a long dress from it so I started chopping it up as soon as I got home...the finished dress looked awful, frumpy and with side splits that just looked strange! I guess I should have taken pics but no instead I ripped it apart at the seams...I was too annoyed to be bothered unpicking nicely! I'm super happy I didn't just leave it stuffed back into my "too be refashioned..." pile though because this is how it looks now:
The panals at the front were from the kimono so I had to work with them...I love the print soo much and even though at 1st I wanted a long dress I'm thinking it looks much better short.
I've been making a few other lil things this week too...Made with love by Hulibug...come say hi =)
Wedding
Once upon a time, was a white linen top, remaining on a shelf because its owner thought it was too short.
On another shelf, a dress was also waiting for better days. Its shape did not satisfied any of the girls who had tried it.
Eventually, they met and decided to spend the rest of their lives together, thinking that in spite of losing some bits and pieces during the process, they will at last see the world.
The former strap became a belt.
$3 Dress
Hi! I bought this dress the other day for $3 =) It was a sz 14/16:
I wasn't in love with my 1st refashion: So I took my sissors to it again:
Loving my end result...it fits great and is super comfortable =)

one top = two dresses
Hiya! Today I decided to use this top I never wore...I thrifted it about 6 years ago as a set with a matching skirt which I loved and wore alot but the top was too big&too short: I cut it in half and took in each half to fit my bust...Then made two very different dresses using fabric from my stash :)
I used the bottom half for the bodice of this maxi dress...I kept the original hem at the top :)
My 2nd dress I just kinda made up as I went...I've had this fabric in my stash for years but never used it as it has a glittery sheen...soo not me! but the blue matched the colour in bodice perfectly so I used the wrong side for the outside :)

That's the story of the top on the left, which was too short but had interesting princess seams. I cut on the red line you may see.
Then,on the right, comes a dress given by a friend. The kind of dress no one can wear because it never fits ! But it has a nice bottom.
They both met yesterday and they seem to like each other. I added a red button because I want to wear them with red shoes.
