What to do with scraps...
Hi! I was trying to tidy up a bit in my sewing room when I found the bottoms of some pant legs I'd chopped off to make shorts & a scrap of blue fabric I'd had for years...
The pant legs looked like they would almost fit me around as a skirt but I already have 4 black minis! So I added a triangle of the blue (which is actually much more bright&vibrant than my pics show!) to the centre front. Then out of a small scrap left over I made a removable bow to add to a black thrifted top I'd previously refashioned to make a cute outfit... I love using lil scraps that would have probably ended up as trash to make something wearable =)

My new favourite dress!
Hi! So I was saying today how not everything I make turns out as I had imagined...I bought a kimono (I did take a pic but I can't seem to find it!) at one of my local thrift shops for $3! I knew staight away I wanted to make a long dress from it so I started chopping it up as soon as I got home...the finished dress looked awful, frumpy and with side splits that just looked strange! I guess I should have taken pics but no instead I ripped it apart at the seams...I was too annoyed to be bothered unpicking nicely! I'm super happy I didn't just leave it stuffed back into my "too be refashioned..." pile though because this is how it looks now:
The panals at the front were from the kimono so I had to work with them...I love the print soo much and even though at 1st I wanted a long dress I'm thinking it looks much better short.

Off-the-Shoulder Glow in the Dark Ribcage Shirt
Hey everyone! I wanted to share this super cute t-shirt that I reconstructed. It started it's life out as a boy's 2xl long sleeve shirt. It fit well, but was still a bit too boxy for me.
I simply cut a new off-the-shoulder neckline out and used a simple fold over band to finish the edges of the new neckline. I also took in the sides and arms to make the shirt fit me better. This is what it looks like now:

Summer playsuit
Hi! I decided it was about time I took a stab at making a playsuit...most i've seen around have been high waisted which isn't always the most flattering style unless it is nicely tailored. So I went for a very casual low waist design with a gathered neckline&loose top...Using this fabric again (I still have a heap of it left!):
I used what used to be a neckband from an old sweater for the waistband and did topstiching in black thread for a contrast. The shorts are super short so it's definately made for the beach!
It's super comfy so I'm sure it'll get alot of wear before summers over...

really weird dress to cute little tunic
The dress had some bizzare details, like detachable sleeves and pintucks on one side, and the colors were not something that I would have chosen myself, but I guess I should thank my mom for picking it up at a yard sale for me - I love it now!

Snow Flower Cardigan
