So my husband was about to throw away a ratty pair of socks. (A reasonable thing to do.
But thanks to this genius tutorial that I stumbled upon, I turned them into little girl leggings for my 2 1/2 year old. She really likes them. And I really liked making them because they take what would otherwise be trash and with 3 CUTS & ONE STITCH turn them into something completely useable and downright fetching. That's my kind of upcycle.
If your little one is a little taller, the same thing works beautifully with ladies' knee socks, which is what the tutorial suggests. I just happened along dad's sock in the trash, so I grabbed them. And that's the best kind of sewing--the rescue & re-make!
Goodbye, WR--you have been a fine, fine friend. Thanks, Nikki, for all you've done to bring this community together.
