Hello everyone. First of all, many thanks to those of you who took the time to make comments and give suggestions on the proposed changes to the Wardrobe Refashion. All are taken on board, and I appreciate that you take time out to tell me (and share with others) what you think. As promised, I am writing this to provide a little more information on the changes, subscriptions and new site. As I’ve previously explained on WR and in the last newsletter, the site will be changing completely. For those who still feel a little confused, I will just point out that this current “version” of WR will soon be coming to an end. The new subscription fees will relate to a whole new site, the content of which I’ve already explained here and here. I will be paying substantially for the new site to help the concept grow. Again, and at the risk of repeating already covered ground, I would (for the last time I promise!) like to mention the following few points:
: New subscribers will NOT be paying to provide content, as some have noted. The new site is a complete community and will contain tutorials, a daily inspirational blog, forum, giveaways, downloadable content etc.
: The idea of subscribing to the new WR is to maintain inspiration and motivation to continue with projects and refashioning. The idea of subscribing is NOT for members to pay for a new site or to provide the blog content.
: After many years of hard work on WR, I feel duty-bound to further the concept to show people just how beneficial, rewarding and inspiring the world of refashioning and recycling can be. The current blog site has come along in leaps and bounds thanks to all of the hard work that you, the contributors, have made. However, four years of personally funding and maintaining this website has taken its toll. By making this change and with the help of subscriptions, I hope to bring on board other creative people to fill other positions.
: WR will continue to prioritize the need to be eco minded and thrifty. The concept of subscribers is to actively maintain this mindset. Along the way, WR will grow as the memberships do. I look forward to having you join me on this journey. The more we grow, the more opportunities we create. The changes will happen as the current blog can no longer actively support my vision for WR. Even though I personally pay for everything on the current WR, I can only do so much and the ability for a better WR is not possible without this overhaul. Along with this, I am really motivated to see the change at WR. I think it’s a great resource now and with the envisioned changes, I can see the potential for a unique site with endless room for expansion.
As it’s been a big factor in many people’s view, I will now map out the new fee structure. Subscription fees will be payable every two months for any two, four or six month subscriptions. At this point, the payment method and billing frequency is unconfirmed while I iron out options on the new site so pleasebear with me while we construct the new site.
2 months sign up will be $20.50 (that works out at approx per $2.50 week and35c per day!)
4 months sign up reduces the 2 month fee to $18.50 (again $2.30 per week, 32c per day)
6 months sign up reduces the 2 month fee to $ 16.50 (again $2.05 per week , 29c per day)
All the above are quoted in Australian currency
Also, a note to overseas followers - the option works exactly the same no matter where you are located.
At this stage, 2,4, and 6 month pledges will be the only available options. I will advise on the 12 month and life memberships at a later time.
