Shoes aren't included in The Pledge, which is a good thing for me as I happen to have GIANT, Sideshow Bob style feet, which can make finding ANY cute shoes difficult, let alone thrifted ones. So when I spotted a 3 pairs for $10 sale on ballet flats at Ardene and there were three pairs in my size right there on the rack I leaped upon them like a... um, puma? A puma that likes shoes? And bought them.
I've been loving the various shoe refashions over here lately, (snaps for Kathy and Gwen and Lauriana!) and all three pairs I picked up are ripe for a bit of tweaking.
This is the first pair, they're a navy blue cord with a tiny bit of a wedged heel (they're not this washed out in real life, I meddled with the exposure to show the details).
I was inspired by a pair of Miu Miu ballet flats that I spotted over at Net-A-Porter for the bargain price of $465. (heh!) And here's what I did to them:
Essentially all I did was unpick the sewn-on (cheap looking) hardware and add a spot of ruffled blue velvet ribbon. The rest of the skinny and the inspiration shoes are over at my blog.
