I've taken the plunge and have joined Amy Karol's latest Apron Sew-Along at Tie One On. And since this latest theme was No $$, the project fit in perfectly with my pledge. Here's my apron!
I made the apron out of some fabric leftovers that I've been holding onto and loving for some time. The flowered fabric is the remains of a vintage tablecloth, and the green is a simple green cotton rectangle. These two fabrics had been paired together once before a few years ago, when I made a series of messenger bags using them together, and I was glad to have the chance to reunite them for one last sewing fling. I didn't use a pattern for the apron, but if you are interested in measurements and construction, I've posted more in-progress photos and details over at The Handmade Librarian. Is anyone else up for making a No $$ Apron? You have until the end of April!
