New Sewing
I have been in a bit of a frenzy these last few weeks. We're planning
an early Christmas celebration with my family, and so I've been rushing
to finish presents ahead of schedule. But I got one new piece of
clothing sewn, a winter skirt using my go-to A-line skirt pattern:
It's a bit longer than my usual length, and I have a feeling that Tim Gunn would have some choice comments about dressing like my grandmother, but I like it. The plaid was a sale fabric from Joann's that I bought during the summer, and it has glittery silver strands shot through it that don't really show up in the picture.
My other recent sewing involved using up some old linen that was given to me by my mother a while ago. There were several yards of it, more than enough for a skirt and a tote bag, two grown-up-sized Christmas stockings and the top of a matching tree skirt that I haven't yet finished, and a whole bunch of these:
I had so much fun with these that I wrote up a pattern and photo tutorial, so you can make some of your own if you like them.
