Something for the New Baby...
While not for my wardrobe, this did use up some fabric I'd had hanging in the stash for who knows how long. I needed a new changing pad cover for our new baby, to disguise the ad hoc changing pad I put together for our daughter when she was a baby.
The "changing pad," made of an egg crate mattress cover, a cotton mattress pad, and a waterproof liner, all cut to size:

The finished product, covered in blue chenille with apple green gingham piping, on the changing table in the nursery:

I cut the top in a four-way chevron pattern for visual interest, but the bottom is covered in the gingham (with an envelope closure to remove it for washing):

Not too shabby for two weeks after our baby was born--he was an early arrival, six weeks before he was due. I have a LOT of catching up to do, since we were nowhere near expecting him so soon! At least when my sewing gets inevitably interrupted by poopy diapers, I'll be able to wipe his teeny behind in style:

More details and photos of the construction on my blog.
