old newbie
Hi all! I'm a avid and active follower of the WReF life philosophy but - perhaps because of twin toddlers - I simply haven't had the time to do as much as I had wanted. My stash of clothes and charity shop bargains to hack apart and make into wonderful creations just keep on growing.....and the time I have to do it all in just keeps disappearing! As a result, I have bullied myself into signing up to enforce a sense of discipline. Six months aswell! What must I have been thinking....?
My most recent creation has been a denim skirt out of DH's old jeans which got lopped off at the knee, legs opened out and a triangle of upholstery fabric (refashioned remnant, naturally!) inserted in the front and back to make the full skirt and then the whole thing hemmed (kind of) along the bottom to finish off. It fits brilliantly and I try not to think about my backside fitting more snugly into DH's jeans than his ever did. I let the ragged ends of the jeans on the edges of the triangle as I couldn't be bothered to do anything about them at the time, but with hindsight figured that this adds to the re-fashion-esque aura of it. :)
Having now found the camera out of the toy box, I can share some pictures. Just ignore the unmade bed in the background!
Ta-raah 'till the next time! x
