Might As Well Face It

Maygroup_023

Hooray!  Another item out of my basket!  This one was a skirt that was too long and just really unflattering up top...okay, it was a little too small.  I decided to shorten it (and give myself some breathing room) by cutting off some of the top.  Nothing too complicated, right?  If only that were true!  If I didn't have this blog to report back to, I think my skirt might have been on the way to the landfill right now!  You can read about my saga (and see my last-ditch facing) at Darling Petunia!

I've cut down several thrift shop skirts that were cute but too tight in the waist [hm, let's not think about that one ...], never tried a facing but always used the double-fold bias tape. This looks good though! Maybe I'll have to try a facing in the future.

Trust me, Jessica, I would have done the bias tape if it hadn't gone all squiggley on me! I was horrified!
