organizing
I couldn't stand it any longer. They had been sitting around rather unruly for some time now, and I kept moving them around, glaring at them the whole time. This pile of double pointed, circular, and normal knitting needles along with all the little extras like cable holders, stitch counters, needle caps and the like, was driving me crazy. Moving them from here, to there, and then somewhere else depending on where I needed to work at the time in my "sewing room" just was not working. Anyway, I wasn't really wanting to do the traditional "roll" because the sizes of needles I have vary so greatly in length and circumference (not to mention the circular needles, how on God's green earth can these be organized?), so I made a bag (of course!).
I started out with this:
and quickly decided to add a leather strap with some cotton tape sewn to the backside (for stability) so it would be a little easier to tote around and this is what it looks like now:
Now all my needles fit in one place and I use the pocket on the outside for all the little extras that I mentioned before. Perfect. And all the materials (minus the cute little daisy eyelets) are from thrifted items. The leather from a coat, and the orange cotton with swirls used to be a bedsheet!
If there is interest, I will make a tut for this bag,
