I took the pledge back in June for 4 months, but I just broke my pledge! I actually had put myself on a strict Summer budget before I found this project. And the project was a great inspiration to help stick to my budget. All Summer I did really well, finishing old projects, working on new ones, using only what I already had. All I bought all Summer was food, gas and a Father's Day present.
But then at the end of August, I got a new part time job. My first thought was 'I need new clothes'!! I haven't worked outside of the house in 9 years, and didn't know if I had suitable work clothing. So, I made myself go through my clothes and I put together 12 outfits to convince myself that I DID have nice work clothing. I only work 2 days a week, so those outfits have carried me pretty far. But, a chill in the air made me think about Fall and Winter clothing. I only have jeans, no dressy pants, and I cannot wear jeans to work, so I had to break down and buy a few pairs of 'real pants'. OK, so that is excusable, those pants were needed. But I also bought a few tops and 3 pairs of really cute shoes!
