I'm Sarah from Memphis and I hate buying clothes. So it is really nice to join this project and have an excuse to stay out of the stores. I wanted to join last time but was hesitant because most of my refashioning is done for my daughter or other people. I'm pretty, erm, heavy for my height and don't find many things big enough to cut down to size.
Here are some past decon/recon projects:
So my two pairs of denim shorts that have seen me through three or four summers began to disintegrate. It's still hotter than hell around here and something had to be done.
I took the pair in the worst shape and seam ripped one side off. Then I separated the front and back panels and pocket pieces and used them to trace a pattern with a sharpie onto some inexpensive interfacing. I left the other side of the shorts intact as a reference on how the pieces were put together.
Muahahaha now I can make many more pairs! I will post again when these are complete.
