I took myself off to the City last Friday morning with a goal to buy yarn for my Betty cardigan. I had thought I'd make it in emerald green and almost bought yarn at Morris & Sons but decided to have a quick look in Clegs (goodness their website is crap!) to see what they had on offer. This red alpaca yarn won my heart over the emerald green the instant I laid my eyes upon it. On Saturday I spent some time winding the yarn into balls while chatting to Brianna before our machine knitting class at Handmaker's Factory. Yarn winding is rather therapeutic!
I've started knitting the back of the cardigan and I'm really loving how it's turning out, the yarn is soft and slightly drapey. The pattern is simple enough to remember the 6 row repeat but detailed enough to keep me interested. If you'd like to knit the Betty cardigan you can join our knit-a-long and if you think you might need some help you can book a spot in the class we have coming up.
I'm also about to start sewing another Hazel dress for the sewalong and class I'm hosting over on Handmaker's Factory and I have some alterations to finish for a customer. Oh and there will be a few more birthday gifts to make in the coming week. Thanks for those who left suggestions yesterday, keep them coming!
