I have been without internet at home for 2 weeks, TWO WEEKS! That's a very, very long time. We had a spectacular thunderstorm which damaged the wires on the pole in front of our house. Anyway, someone finally came out on Friday and fixed the wire. So no internet access means I've been occupying my time with more productive tasks such as sewing and knitting. Yay for productivity!
My sewing room is ridiculously cold at this time of year, it's like sewing in a walk-in fridge. A lack of heating in our house means I've taken to wearing a hoody, a padded vest and a scarf to stay warm but what about my cold hands? Fingerless mitts are what I need! A scroll through the patterns on Ravelry came up with the Cafe au Lait pattern which is an all over lace pattern that is interesting but quick to knit. I used up some Heirloom Easy Care 8 ply left over from Mia's Kiddy Vertebrae, around 1.2 balls in total, and knit them up over a few nights while watching movies.
Now I can sew and have warm hands too! Whoop!
