Over the winter months i generally sew a lot less and this winter has been no different. I sewed on a number of occasions but recently i seem to have lost my mojo. Kev and I have been watching tv series such as Breaking Bad, The Wire, Game of Thrones, Boardwalk Empire, The Walking Dead and now Dexter.
Now that spring has sprung i hope to spend more time in my sewing room but before i can do that it needed an overhaul. You know how it is, piles of stuff, unfinished projects and overflowing shelves and boxes of supplies. Sunday was a beautiful day so we threw open the doors and windows, cranked up the music and while Kev enjoyed his Fathers Day i got to work cleaning and rearranging.
(almost done.....waaaaay tidier than when i started!)
I moved furniture around including that bookshelf on the right, pulling all the books off and putting them back on again. I threw away scraps of fabric i've been hoarding and old papers and sorted through the unfinished project pile, some of which have gone into the bin.
The notes on the wall are for Handmakers Factory which i've been spending much of my time working on recently. It may seem like there's not much happening but there is! The knitting machine is currently just gathering dust and the Tessuti bag contains this quilt, the top is finished, the backing is done and i have the wadding, it just needs quilting. It's so big, maybe too big, i plan to have it machine quilted....some day, it's been in the works since 2007 so i suppose a while longer won't hurt!
I'm off to mess up my tidy room ;)
