My new bike came with a cute little basket on the front. The only problem? No lid to keep my belongings dry. My solution? Make an oversized shower cap!
I used half a metre of coated cotton from Tessuti Fabrics and a length of elastic. It was a bitch to sew without a teflon foot, i thought i'd get away without it since i was sewing so little but a few hours of battling with the fabric, plenty of cursing and much unpicking (and trimming) made me think i should have invested in one! It would have been MUCH easier.
Anyway, i'm pleased with how it turned out, it does the job and looks pretty darn cute.
