(we played with sparklers on New Years Eve!)
2010 was a good year for me. It was a happy year. Lots happened but at the same time not much at all (in a good way).
Great things that happened include....
- We finally visited our family and friends back in the UK after 6 years away.
- We settled into our new surroundings after moving house at the end of 2009.
- We grew as a family.
- Homeschooling went swimmingly.
Thankfully nothing bad happened in 2010. Of course there were ups and downs, the odd trialling moment but nothing major. One sad thing that did happen was I finally decided to close down Wardrobe Refashion to posts (i'm still waiting on the help of Typepad to fully close it). This is the one thing that weighed heavily on my mind this year, i struggled with making the decision but finally in October (while away) i knew. While i'm sad to end it i'm also incredibly pleased with what i did with it.
I feel i managed most of my list from this time last year and that pleases me. I didn't give myself unachievable goals and i feel i've finally (sort of) managed to get myself into a space i'm happy with. In the past i would always say yes, i was always involved, always on the go, always had too much to do. I've learned to say no more often and it's taken some time to get to the point where i say no when i need to, although there are still times when i should. Selfish? Hell yeah but i need to be for my sanity's sake and the sake of my family. That's what matters in the end.
So, i'm starting 2011 in the same way i did 2010. I'm looking forward to it being a bloody good year. I'm not setting any unachievable goals, i'm just going to go with the flow and enjoy the ride.
This year i would like to....
- Keep a journal (so far so good)
- Ride my bike (i love riding my bike!)
- Run (maybe a goal to work towards?)
- Practice yoga (Ohmmmmmm)
- Create an outdoor area (started already)
- Start a pinboard (to inspire and remind)
- Hang out with family and friends more
- Take a trip in Australia with the family
- Sew quilts (finally finish my first one especially-ahem)
- Continue to sew my clothes (of course!)
How was 2010 and what does 2011 hold for you?
