I've been coveting a simple stripy dress for a while now. Something simple, t-shirt style and kinda loose fitting for the warmer weather. I've looked at current patterns in the pattern books at work and have checked out different styles online and on customers at work but yet again i found the perfect pattern in my stash at home. Today was forecast to be hot and i decided i wanted to wear it to work today, so i purchased a metre of fabric yesterday, cut it out before leaving work and sewed it up last night.

Pattern: Simplicity 9521 (1980) from the stash
Fabric: Barcode Easy cotton/poly jersey from Tessuti Fabrics
Notes: I made a size 10 but shortened it by about 5cm. I didn't add the elastic waistband, i want to have the option of wearing it loose or with a belt. One side of the hem is straight, the other has a split.
I had trouble sewing the hem, my machine (in desperate need of a service) didn't seem to like that part. I'll be giving it another go with the twin needle rather than a stretch stitch.
This is a great pattern, It took me a few hours to make. It looks great and feels so comfortable in this heat (40+C). I think i need more in other colours!
