It's finally finished! I knit like a demon and had the front and back done in 2 weeks, then i stalled. It became too bulky to knit on the train and i had some other projects needing my attention so it was put aside midway through the first sleeve while i attended to them. I eventually finished the sleeves and then i was a little scared about tackling the button bands. I finally finished them last week and couldn't believe how easy they were, what was i worried about!?
I'm very pleased with how it has turned out, it's my only large scale knit other than my hourglass sweater which stretched out of shape the first time i washed it and now resides in my drawer waiting to be fixed. Yeah, it's been 3 (or is it 4) years, so what?!
The Details
Pattern: Tealeaves by Madeline Tosh
Yarn: Just over 2 balls of Alpaca Rich DK/8 ply in black from Bendigo Woollen Mills
Buttons: from Tessuti Fabrics
Alterations and other info: I added an extra button although i think i could have done with one further down too. The yarn is pretty fuzzy and quite ticklish and takes a little while to get used to wearing but it's oh so warm!
Oh and i found the black yarn very hard to photograph and show any detail.
Now i think i'll start a mini version but which child do i make it for without starting a riot?!
