Today while my two older girls were banished to their rooms for being naughty* Heidi and I got to work making mince pies.
She thoroughly enjoyed herself with the leftover pastry for about an hour after finishing the pies.
I think she enjoyed it a little too much!
They turned out to be pretty yummy and were made with the leftover pastry from the lemon tart i also made for our friends. No pics of the tart i'm afraid, it didn't last long enough**! You can see an older pic along with the recipe though.
*We had planned to put up the decorations today but my older two were incredibly naughty this morning and their behaviour in recent weeks has been terrible. So, we're cracking down and they don't know what has hit them! The decorations were put back into the garage, they were banished to their rooms, tv has been banned and they have been informed that if things continue as they are then there will be no decorations and Santa may not visit.
We're so tired of the fighting, bickering, rudeness, back answering, attitude and disrespect for their belongings and us and they're only 4 and 5! It has to stop!! Although i don't know if it ever stops does it? we just have to readjust our tactics every now and again to fool ourselves into thinking we're the ones in control and not the little monsters. It's WAR! Wish us luck.
