three-oh

Today i reached my thirties!  Goodbye twenties.

In my twenties i studied, worked, traveled, married, emigrated, gave birth (three times!), made many wonderful friends and grew in so many ways (except in height, i'll always be a short arse!).  Those ten years have been full of wonderful (and not so wonderful) times and i wouldn't change a thing.  Now onto the next chapter, my thirties.  I have a feeling they're going to be great although i really need to work on those dark circles under my eyes :)
I've been inspired by others out in blogland to write a list of 30 things i'd like to do before i turn 31.  Here i go:

1. Become an Australian citizen (this will happen next month!)
2. Learn to use the knitting machine
3. Plant some trees
4. Learn about natural dyeing
5. Take a class
6. Go on a date with my man
7. Pay off the CC (doing a pretty good job so far)
8. Save, save, save!
9. Finish my quilts
10. Learn how to use my camera properly
11. Take a photo a day
12. Have regular haircuts
13. Make my blog into a Blurb book
14. Buy Wellington boots
15. Open my online store
16. Teach Mia to write letters and numbers
17. Knit at least 5 pairs of socks
18. Go on a holiday with my family
19. Work on making Mixtape Zine bigger and better!
20. Declutter my home (working on this one already)
21. Learn colourwork knitting
22. Eat here
23. Make a video with the girls to send back home to family
24. Visit Reverse Art Truck
25. Organise my Flickr photos
26. Get a new tattoo
27. Read all the books i own
28. Volunteer
29. Make a handmade zine, doing it the old fashioned way
30. Update my 'About page' here on my blog

Happy birthday Nichola Michelle 30 years ago i did'nt know whether i was coming or going first daughter, first grand child for my side of the family third for your dads and born on your nana Willis's birthday and christened on your nana Sayers's birthday and nana and granda's wedding anniversary and the apple of your dad's eye, you did a lot in that first year of life. Now you have three daughters to look forward to growing up and doing all the same things and looking back at them with pride. Happy bithday and i hope you have a lovely day.
