Tara- altered and refashioned

Do you remember i asked you a week or so ago for some pattern alteration help?  Well, i changed Tara to have spaghetti straps instead of the flutter sleeves the pattern calls for and i added a crochet doily across the bust area to 'cover the girls'!

Read more about how i made this top here.
And see my 'How-to' here.

Next i'm going to be altering Celestina.  Other than extending  the waistline (wink) do you have any other suggestions of how it could be altered?  Leave a comment and i'll show you what i come up with next Monday.

**grin**

Hi!  Thankyou all for the many comments i woke up to this morning and that have streamed into my inbox throughout the day.  Yes, i am indeed pregnant with our third child which is due in March.  Some asked if this was planned, well the answer is yes and no.  Yes because we thought we'd just see how things went and if we got pregnant then great and no because it happened within the first month which we weren't expecting!  It took a lot longer to become pregnant with Mia and Esme so we were a little shocked but happy when we did the test.  We actually did the test because Kev's grandma had had a feeling that i was pregnant, spooky woman.
Other than feeling tired/exhausted/bloody knackered most days i'm actually feeling pretty good and sometimes even forget i'm pregnant!  Although a quick glance at the growing belly soon reminds me.
Mia is excited but Esme is non the wiser :)  Man i'm going to have my hands full.

Thanks also for the comments about my new blog look.  I'm really loving the new vibe going on here and there will be more fun stuff to come in the future!  Stay tuned.

While i'm here, i'd like to direct you over to Yahoo Picks  to read all about me and Wardrobe Refashion.

Tomorrow some show and tell.

....yup.

Spankin' new look!!!

What do you think of the blog's new look?  Pretty snazzy huh?  I had had the pink rose banner since May 2005, YES! over 2 years and a change was well overdue.
I have Simon (again) to thank for the banner, he's just too good and very handy to have around the corner!  Thanks Simon.xx

Jasmine's Quilt

This is the first quilt i've made and i'm pretty impressed with myself!  It's very basic, just 5 strips of fabric each quilted down the centre with a cable pattern.  I also added a line of stitching to either side of the seams.  The binding is cut on the bias to have the stripes the diagonal.
All it needs now is a wash then to be enjoyed by Jasmine, i hope she likes it :)

Pattern change help

Tara_burda_image_2

Have you seen the new design Tara over at Burda Style? Cute huh? I like it but since it’s winter here in Melbourne and really, really cold there are a few things I’d like to change.  First of all I’d like to change the sleeves, I’m not too keen on flashing my underarms so I’d like to change them somehow. Do you have any suggestions? I’m thinking maybe a longer sleeve that comes to my elbows.  Next up I’d like to change the neckline, or add something in there to cover a little more boobage and keep the girls warm!  Also, how do you think this pattern would work in a knit fabric? Or would you suggest something different?
Leave me a comment over the next few days to let me know your thoughts and next week I’ll give you a how-to of how I altered the pattern and the results.

I'm starting up a sew along over on Burda Style too.  I'll post a choice of patterns in the forum and we'll spend a length of time sewing the garments, depending on the difficulty levels.  Why not head on over here to find out more details and join in?  The best part is that the patterns used in the sew along are all free!!!

Ok peeps this has been one insane week. We have pre-sold a heap of mixtape and have now decided to cut off. By that we mean there is a handful left over in our etsy store and once they are sold that is it! Yep no more to be sold, we will however we will be putting a few in sticky and meet me at mikes for you Melbourneites! Got a call from Angela over at Sew Your Own last night (who by the way is designing issue 2's cover YIPPEE!!) letting us know that a couple of fab sites have been talking about us! Don't ya just love the love being spread around, we do!

Mix Tape is in it's 'putting together' stages and will be ready for August 12th, so why not head on over to our shop and pre-order your copy????  Go on, part with some $$$'s and get the best new zine out on the street.
The fabulous cover image up there is by the talented chick Shannon, if you haven't guessed that's Justine and I with our girls, Mia, Esme and Molly.  Isn't it THE BEST?!
We've really enjoyed putting this together, i'd never have got it done without Justine's bullying organisational skills and Simon's artistic talents!!!  Thanks guys for being part of it.
