increasing my summer wardrobe

The weather is starting to warm up here in Australia, which means i need to start sewing some summer clothes.  I made this easy top/dress last week but decided to wait until i bought myself a strapless bra before showing you.  I mean, breastfeeding boobs all loose and free are NOT what you want to see are they?

I'll be wearing this as a top with leggings or jeans, i'd feel far too self conscious wearing it as a dress, i rarely like to show my legs from the knees upwards.

Thanks for all your messages about my purse being stolen.  I just need to find myself a nice new one now, one that isn't too expensive, large enough to hold all my crap and cards and cash.  Any ideas where to find one?

To the B@&*^%D that took my purse from my sleeping baby's pushchair this afternoon in Spotlight, (just on the offchance that you have been curious enough to check out the website on the card that was in there).  I find it extremely sad that you are so low that you needed to do such a thing.  I hope you enjoy spending the $50 that was in there, don't bother trying the cards, they were cancelled straight away.  It's not the money that you stole that pisses me off (that much), it's the fact that you took my personal possesions, including photographs.   If you had any decency you would return my purse to me, but i highly doubt you do.  It's a good job for you that i didn't catch you doing it, i'd have beat the shit out of you with a bolt of fabric.

Karma will get you.

Cullottes

What do you think?  I used an old pattern found at the op shop which had no cover, it was all in a brown envelope.  I think i may take them in slightly as they feel a little big around my hips.  Do you like the length of them?  Should i make them shorter?  I was thinking of adding something to them, maybe some trim but now that i've seen them in this photo i think i may leave them as they are.
The manicure, RED nails!!

I haven't worn nail polish since i was at college.  Of course i smudged it straight away.

Well hello!

Is it really 20 days since i posted here?  I've never gone this long without posting.  Every day i have all the good intentions of posting then life gets in the way and before i know it the day is over.  So, even though i have no pictures for you i thought if i post now then i'll get back into the swing of it.
First things first, i'd like to thank all of you that commented or emailed about the closing of the Nectar Lounge and those of you that gave me so much information on places in Melbourne.  I'm so sorry if i haven't emailed you back personally, i really do appreciate all your help and kind words so please don't be offended.  Life has been crazy recently.
We haven't moved yet, still have a few things to organise with the bar before we do and we thought it'd be better for Kev to find work first so we can look for a place that is nearby or at least where there is good public transport.  Talking of work, Kev has a second interview tomorrow morning for a great job so keep your fingers crossed for him.
I can't begin to tell you how much happier we all are since deciding to close the bar.  I smile more, i spend more time with my girls and my wonderful man, i get to see more of my fabulous friends, i get to sit in front of the tv at night if i want to and i feel less stressed.  I've started to take more care of myself too, eating better, pampering myself (manicure, mudmasks, lovely smelly goodies from Wax Bar, making some new clothes and treating myself to some new shoes.
I met up with my friend KB yesterday.  We glammed it up by having a manicure then lunch at Amici (delicious pumpkin, pinenut and blue cheese broschette), then a free viewing of 'The many lives of Florence Broadhurst' courtesy of KB's work place.   I wore my new cullottes that i made on Friday evening (pics later) and my new shoes.  Now, it's been a while since i bought a new pair of shoes and i forgot the pain that goes into wearing them in.  By the end of the day my heels were a mess and i now have an infection  in my right heel, ugh!  My foot and leg have been aching and my heel is red and pussy (TMI i know, sorry).  The chemist gave me ointment and such but i think i'll be paying a visit to the doctor tomorrow for some antibiotics, i'm quite fond of my right foot and would hate for it to fall off.  The worst thing is i can't wear any shoes, i've been wearing thongs today (flip flops to my fellow Brits).  Kev has tonsilitis again too, we're a right pair aren't we?  I think it's this place, it's jinxed.
So, enough of my ramblings, now that i've got off my arse and finally got around to posting you should be hearing more from me.  Stay tuned for some beautiful goodies, creations and ideas.
