Finally!

I finally got my woven labels, it only took them a month, mainly due to them messing them up first time around!  Anyway, here they are:

Aren't they pretty?  Now that i have them I'm sewing up a storm and now have a few items for sale in my shop (see right).  Please be patient while i get it all sorted, there will be more items up for sale pretty soon.

In other news i finished my Lace Leaf Cravat last week.

Yarn: Jaegar Matchmaker merino double knitting, 2 strands held together.

Time: 2 nights, as the yarn is finer than specified in the pattern i made it a lot longer so i could wrap it around my neck a few times.

I'm pretty pleased with it although i think I'll make it again with thicker yarn.  I'm not sure I'll get much wear out of it now that the sun is starting to show itself!  Ah well, it's ready for next winter.

1. I talk and walk in my sleep.
2. I take off my bra while sitting on the sofa (to be comfy of course) and can manage it without taking off my top.
3. I burp (rather loudly sometimes as Kev just found out), fart and pick my nose, but don't we all?
4. I portion my food into little bits before putting a little of each thing on my fork to eat it.  I also have to have a drink while eating.
5. I hate drying my hair, it takes up too much time and is boring.

Heart breaker

Check out this gorgeous little guy!  Don't you just want to eat him?  This is Noah, my best friends little boy.  Unfortunately i've never met him as he was born in february after we left to come live on the other side of the planet.  Just look at those eyes, of course he takes after his mother in the looks department (not that i'm saying you're not handsome Youl!)

Of course, he'll be my son-in-law one day!

Today i want to show you one of my favourite artists, Floria Sigismondi.  She is a visual artist/video music director and has worked with the likes of Tricky, Marilyn Manson and David Bowie.  Her work is pretty freaky but i love it, i love the colours and techniques she uses.  I'm directing you to her official website so you can check out her fabulous work and biography.

Boo Hoo

Update: Woohoooo!!! It seems to be fixed.  I called Bigpond yesterday and the lovely guy told me that a lot of people were having the same kind of problem.  Apparantly an American server had gone down and was causing it all.  I have no idea how or why but i don't care now, it's all fixed and now i can see what i've posted and check my bloglines, Yipee!!!!!

I'm having computer problems.  I'm unable to see my blog page (but i can post on it!?) or bloglines.  I don't know what is going on, i'm thinking it may have something to do with my broadband connection because that's not automatically connecting when i switch on my computer.  I've spent the past 2 days trying to figure out what's wrong and now i give up.  If anyone can help me please email me.  I think i'll be calling Bigpond later this afternoon when i'm finished work to see if they have any clue as to what is wrong.

In the kitchen

This is my own recipe, if you try it (as with any of my recipes) be sure to let me know how it went.

Biscotti

• 300g egg whites
• 300g plain flour
• 300g caster sugar
• 300-400g mixed nuts and dried fruits

Method

Sift the flour and sugar together in a large bowl.

Whisk the egg whites until thick and foamy (best to use an electric mixer for this job).

Gently fold the whites into the flour and sugar to keep as much air in as possible.

Fold in the nuts and dried fruits, i used a mixture of pistachios, almonds, dried mango and dried apricot.

Spoon onto a baking sheet in a line (or 2 as i have done) and bake in the oven @ 170 degrees Celsius until cooked through but still soft to the touch (about 30 minutes).

Then slice into the thickness you desire, place back onto the baking sheet and dry out in the oven @ 120 degrees Celsius.

Voila!

Mia wanted to show off her new 'big girl' pajama's.  "What do you recon?" she asks, "My Mammy made them for me and i like them so much that i've put in an order for a nice pink flowery pair, anyone else want a pair?".

This is my cat Poppy and me or as i like to call her 'Kev's number 1', she loves to lay on his chest and cuddle into him ignoring everyone else.   No artist/photographer of the day today, i may get round to it tomorrow.

Happy Birthday Tom Will!

Today is my little (big) brothers 24th Birthday!  So, i thought I'd embarrass him by posting this fantastic picture of the two of us when we were little.  I think I'm around 7 years old and him around 3.  Wasn't he a cutie?  This is my favourite picture of him.

Unfortunately i don't have a recent picture of him to prove how handsome he's become, never mind.  He's back from his boys holiday in Ibiza today and then he's off to Nice with his lovely girlfriend Amy later tonight, must be nice eh?

Knitting? I don't think so!

I doubt there will be much knitting done in the next week.  Mr Potter will be taking up far too much of my time!

On other news, Jac and i went to the Footy last night to see Essendon play Collingwood (AFL).  It was my first ever game and i really enjoyed it, i had no clue as to what was going on though.   We had pie and beer, apparently a must when at a game and Essendon (the team we were supporting) won!

Tomorrow we're off to Bendigo to the sheep and wool show, oooh arrrrrrr!
